Web design

I am looking for someone to build a website for my company. Ideally someone who knows the tree care industry. If any of you have had good luck and would like to recommend who you used that'd be great! Thank you

I know this is an older thread, but just a suggestion for those considering building or have a website built, I would highly recommend not forgetting and investing in SEO (search engine optimization). That is if you want a website to drive more business then you need it to rank. If your website doesn't rank then you will be disappointed in your website investment.

I just want to put in my two cents. I got out of the tree industry about two years ago and went into digital marketing/WordPress world(Started using Adwords in 2009). I specialize in Google ads, SEO and WordPress websites(I don't cold call to get clients). I have a couple of small clients and I work for a small marketing agency part-time. I'm just moving up the ranks like I did in tree work. I worked on about 14 different websites ranging from tree services, business software and financial e-commerce websites. SEO takes more work than what digital marketing salesmen tend to tell you.

Google has shifted from giving backlinks dominance in the search page but instead, they went into a content model in their search algorithm. This means that they favor quality content that is written well and you can't buy cheap backlinks. It takes time to rank unless you using some black hat techniques or maybe they have lots of experience.

Honestly, if you are a writer or know someone who is a writer in the tree business, all you need to do is have them write blog articles maybe once a week. Over time this builds up because I saw a software company that has 3000 blog articles over a 12-year span. This gives you SEO 'juice' because you rank for more keywords with more content. Make sure the articles are anywhere from 500 words to 1200. 2000 word articles will rank fast too. Make the long form content three mini-articles on one subject, unless you have enough stuff to talk about just one topic. Google favors long-form content. This will get you ranked eventually and it takes time like all things. Updating on the website is needed because it shows the Google crawlers that you are working and care about the content on your website. We perform keyword research and research on blog article topics that have high engagement. Also, videos on copywriting help.

I like to tell people like this, SEO is like getting in shape the natural way, meaning it takes time. Google ads(formerly known as Adwords as of last week) on the other hand is more like steroids which gives you an instant boost. Google search ads require tweaking of the content you are sending the people to i.e. the landing page. Google determines ranking on how your keywords and ads are performing. If people are leaving your site fast after clicking, Google will make it more expensive for you to get those leads. Quality Score, bounce rate and click through rate are major factors. Anyone is welcome to PM me for any information or help on the subject.
