WCISA TCC Results!

I was on a Beeline with a Martin knot. I like that knot because it usually doesn't move to fast, but I think since that was such a tall tree and my rope was fairly new that the end of the rope was not even broke in.

Would that make a difference?

Not sure if I would have let go if it would have held. I think it would of, but it happened all so fast.

Sorry I scared you and everyone else. It hurt, but I think mostly I had a hard time getting back up because I was so mad at myself.

So, you didn't know that you had been disqualified until you came down out of the tree? ...
I said it once and I'll say it again you were ROBBED...
Oh and by the way you had me crying when you dang near broke your ankle/leg/foot anything. Not to mention when the results were announced and you were not the winner. I feel your agony....I have placed second to a good many climbers through the years, in fact nine times that I can remember. Know body ever can remember who placed second unless you followed Rocco Mediate this weekend in the US Open. He will be remembered for his 91 holes of golf and losing to Tiger Woods. Name sound the same. Woods...Get it?

No, I didn't know until after I got done icing my foot and decided to go over and see what the time was on it by one of the judges.

Oh well, I now know that I should have spoke up and plus I think John T will ensure this is discussed at the next judges meeting. It will be better for all in the future.

Thanks for backing me up though and you nailed my emotions on coming in 2nd. I don't like to lose, but I guess it is also good to learn how to deal with it. (Just call me Rocco Woods.) I tried to suck it up, best I could.

Now it's just more of an incentive to be more prepared and work harder for next year, since both of us will be experienced in comp climbing. It should be a great show!

I actually wish I lived closer to Jessica so I could help her out with learning the footlock technique. The same thing that happened to her, happened to me last year. After that, I spent several times a week just doing the footlock to prepare for the ITCC. Luckily it paid off and I at least made it under the time limit.

Gosh I'm wordy. Thanks for chatting with me Robert. Hope I didn't bore the rest of you. I guess you had to be there.

Hey, that's an idea, next year, you all should be there. Our TCC's are rockin'! Plus be prepared for a big women's turn out. I'm shooting for 8 next year. That way we can hopefully have a Master's Climb.

I watched Jared A. in Nashville and I look forward to watching him in St. Louis.
How Old is he 20-22? Wish my dad was a multiple itcc competitor. Congrats

Gary and Jared are two of the nicest and coolest guys ever. Gary is an inspiration (a living legend IMO). At over 50 yrs old he smokes most of the younger competitors.
Jared literally ran through his work climb. Both are world class tree climbers and just all around awesome dudes.
