You can also buy lifeline rope by the foot at Knot and Rope Supply and get an end eye spliced if you want.

Oh yeah... if you go with a short rope and work your tip up... tie a stopper in it... really.

i have never had to cut a rope on purpose. I have lots of short ropes by accident. They are all very useful.

I also have found the xt to work well but then it will bind up and twist funny sometimes while acending causing it to lock up.

Hey bro, its Donaghys Armor Prus 8mm cord. Really cant fault this stuff. lasts forever (just tested a 5month old hammered hitch on a test rig and it sanpped at 2.8tonnes, on the bend of the pin), easy to splice. just wash it every so often and its sweet. I use it with tachyon and it holds very time, releases every time. only available in NZ and Aus at the moment due to CE mark but this is being worked on by Donaghys.
