There is a phone company advertising their services. The theme of the campaign is to show people doing stupid things, like paying too much for phone service.

The one that I saw this morning was setup like this:

Scene is in the woods, many 12-14" diameter trees.
Car parked center foreground. Looked like a fancy one.
Chainsaw starts up.
Makes back cut and the tree starts to tip towards the foreground.
Cutter pushes weakly on trunk.
Trunk flattens car


Who wouldn't have wanted to be hired as the technical expert on that shoot? Could you set up the face to smash the car without a second take?

Went bucking once on a YP plantation with a happy 'ol Swede who showed me a domino drop...must've been 20 trees he dropped right where we wanted. Afterwards I gave some thought to a shear wind or something else that could present some unanticipated results, but he'd been doing the multiple directional drops for decades.

Gotta love the Swedes and their Saabs and Volvos, but that don't mean their culinary preferences. Maybe he did the commercial? Name was Sven Svensen, of course.

I've got Vonage Phone service, it rocks!
Under $30 a month for unlimited local and long distance. My local phone company wants more than $150 a month. Screw them.

It's through cable internet service, so you need that first.
