WALKING IN MY WINTER UNDERWEAR

Sleigh bells ring and I'm listening,
But I'm turning and twisting.
'Cause I'm itching up here,
And I'm scratching down there,
I'm walking in my winter underwear.

Now, the front is all battered,
And the back is is all tattered,
But, when I'm cold to the core,
I walk through the "trap door",
And up into my winter underwear.

Vell, I don't care if it rains or snows or freezes.
I yam so warm I yust don't give a hoot.
I put on all the stockings I can locate,
And I wear two pair of trousers with my suit.

But then I start to perspire
And then it sets me on fire.
'Cause I'm itching up here,
And I'm scratching down there,
I'm walking in my winter underwear.

Vinter snow is white and glistening,
But I'm turning and twisting.
I gotta scratch a little here,
I gotta scratch a little there.
I'm walking in my winter underwear.

I put my bathing suit away in moth balls,
And now I've got to adapt to snow balls.
Then I can't scratch my back;
I throw myself all aback.
I'm walking in my winter underwear.

Through rain and snow and ice I do not worry.
The winter come, I yust don't give a hoot.
My coat and hat and earmuffs keep my cozy
And I wear two pair of trousers with my suit.

But then to cope to other clothing,
Vell, the thing that I am loading,
Is when my face turn blue,
And contortions I go through,
Walking in my winter underwear.

Winter's here, snow is glistening
It is cold outside
There's no place to hide
Got to change into my winter underwear

I need to dress for the weather
Dress in layers cause it's better
You just can't go wrong
Just as long
As you start with your winter underwear.

Well, I don't care if it rains `r snows or freezes.
I'm so warm I just don't give a hoot.
I put on all the stockings I can locate,
And wear two pair of liners in my boots

Building snowmen, figure skating
Mr. Pechey's cross country skiing
It don't matter a bit
Cause I got a good fit
Walking in my winter underwear.

Hockey Games, tobaggon riding
It is so fun, slipping and sliding
I will not complain
It's all just a game
When I'm walking in my winter underwear.

Through rain 'n snow and ice I do not worry.
When winter comes, I just won't make a fuss
My coat, hat and earmuffs keep my cozy
But my long johns are the key to happiness

My underclothes are not a topic
I discuss very often
But just in this case
I can say with out haste
I just gotta love my underwear

Ya did it again Tom...bringing back old and fond memories of Lake Calhoun and the 'WTCN studios w/ Casey and Roundhouse singing the classic Winter tunes.

I'll have the red flannel thought all day now, the flap in back and baggy knees, scratching phantom itches while snot ice's up my sleeves.

Was there the last two days of Fall and the First few of Winter - Dad died - and the kids and I made fast for Iowa before the storm hit but were hooked by the tail end in Kansas. Forgot just how much Winter can sting. A warning in both geographical and economical issues: WalMart's all-purpose anti-freeze freezes into clumps when it's below zero, rendering the heater core useless...bring gloves and wear those Vinter Undervares.

Thanks for the tune, it's in my head now for probably all week but that's good - less room for reality.

Yimmy Yensen the Singin' Swede was a friend of Casey Jone's and Axel's too.

He did a video of the song for both shows!

My Mom went to high school with Casey, Roger Awsub [sp???]

Casey was an icon, as was his show.

Lately 'icons' need to submit to background checks, can't be alone with a kid in a room (the law), and push products more than entertainment.

If our father's were the "last great generation", we're the last of a "almost great one", thanks in part to Casey and his crew. Priceless youth we had, wish it were still possible.
