These trees always have a wierd buttress style trunk.

You have to think a bit of where to notch them, this one was great, lined up well and the pull rope was offset 30 degrees to compensate for the wind.

Just proves you dont have to have the pull rope in the same plane as the notch.

Ha, busted myself and too windy for wedging.

I have this habit of starting saws like that, left hand on the bar, thumb decompresses it and RH pulls to start it ... seems so natural and coincidental that stihl put that decomp right there.

Would have taken a fair belting to wedge that back over. And the back cut was pretty shallow to the hinge., that stuffs you up when the wedge is hard up against the hingewood.
 
Nice job ! I cant wait to get my ulead going so I can do the slow mo!!! What a weird trunk shape. the overlook shot shows how youcan make use of as much hinge as possible.NICE!
