Uplifting Spirits

Hi Brandon, that photo was taken about two weeks ago at Shark Reef Park on Lopez Island, WA. It is SW of Bellingham in Puget Sound. I have been trying to get in regular solo hikes and climbs during this shutdown, to stay in shape, and sometimes my girlfriend Ellen comes along. We both live on different islands but have been isolating so it seems safe to still get together once in a while. Some of our local county parks are still open for day use here, although the State and National parks are all closed.

@Burrapeg It's beautiful country. I'm on the east side of the state. My pops is on the penninsula, and his fiance is in canada. No getting together there. Glad you guys can do that!!! I'll have to check out that area more when I recover.

That Cottonwood is about 54" DBH. The little bicycle trailer in the picture is what I hauled my gear in and it is 24" across from wheel to wheel for reference. There are some real biggies here in Detroit, especially where I live close to the river.

Sorry no pic, but a customer of mine had an anecdote of a friend's older child getting sick Jan-Feb, 2 days after visiting a chinese market, before Covid was being diagnosed, started on a respirator and involved heart issues later, so there's good possibility of correlation. Tell your doc.

Rest and get better. take care

This oak was well over 200 years old, same family had it for most of its life. Hypoxylon got it. Hard sideways climbing all day in that one. You can see our biggest redirect sling in the first place it could make it around, 3/4 of the way up the trunk.

This is Alex. Not sure he does tree work any more, but he's way psyched just here.
