That dynasorb must have stretched half way to the ground and flung back up. Sending that butt like a canon when it separated at the stump. This fella's fate was sealed the moment he decided to top tie this large piece of wood using dyna-sorb (high elongation) and a porty...The wrong tools for the job combined with some shitty cutting cost this poor fella his life. RIP homie.
These are my thoughts too.Oh yeah no GRCS is necessary here. Nice to have but surely not needed. I have none and trust me I would get that move to fly. But many many better options I am sure. First one is to pack up and go home. Deal with spar on a fresh body and mind. Even if losing money is the worst case scenario. Lots to learn from here.
I think you may give dynasorb too much credit - it’s still within the range of static ropes. When it stuck to the ground, there was no recoil. This man can attest. That dynasorb must have stretched half way to the ground and flung back up. Sending that butt like a canon when it separated at the stump.
Honestly I hate that rope. You were there so I know you saw the rigging setup up close. In my imagination I am picturing something different. Dynasorb has a lot of stretch compared to stablebraid or double esterlon.I think you may give dynasorb too much credit - it’s still within the range of static ropes. Insane. It gets worse. What horrible humans.I had video and pics from the scene in Richmond Friday night. The part of the story not shared here is that the company he was working for left him, under the tree, still alive without calling 911. The neighbor had to call because the company left him to die.
Manslaughter, at the least. I am stunned.I had video and pics from the scene in Richmond Friday night. We had a similar situation here 5 or 6 years ago. The victim was an undocumented alien from Guatemala and they dropped him off at the emergency room door and drove off. The company is still in business and never had an investigation or penalty. Another strong reason for state regulation of the industry.I had video and pics from the scene in Richmond Friday night. Absolutely calous. We all have to answer for our lives at the end. So we have that comfort I believe. Just my take.We had a similar situation here 5 or 6 years ago. I am getting clarification Steve, but I believe this is untrue. I’m guessing Rick or the crane operator shared video/pics? Or was it someone in the department?I had video and pics from the scene in Richmond Friday night. I’m told it was Jeff K. who may have shared video. I think there was a miscommunication. I’ve spoken with first arriving officers and they confirm they spoke with members of the crew. I also was on scene and saw what appeared to be crew on the periphery. Also, the caller’s name and description is consistent with this information. Please let’s not make this worse than it already is.I am getting clarification Steve, but I believe this is untrue. I’m guessing Rick or the crane operator shared video/pics? I’m sorry Steve - I didn’t mean to direct that solely at you. I understand your condemnation. I just wanted to get facts straight before we went too far down the path of ‘lynch mob’Thanks for the clarification. Not sure I could personally make it worse but misinformation isn’t good so thanks for clarification.
