The University of Kentucky Physical Plant – Ground Services is currently seeking two positions in an expanded effort to support its Lexington Campus Arboriculture. These positions, Arborist Lead and Arborist are instrumental in this expansion.
These roles participate in evaluating the Campus tree canopy for overall health and safety issues; demonstrating a keen awareness of any tree safety concerns, including tree health, structural stability, falling timber, lighting conflicts, etc. The positions participate in emergency response after a disaster. They perform tree work as directed including pruning, removals, cabling/bracing, lightning protection, and site cleanup. This requires utilizing safe and efficient climbing methods and rigging techniques.
