Ultimutt Champions!

Last weekend, Heartwood participated in a 7s rugby tournament hosted by the Charlotte Rugby Club. The tournament was called the Mutt 7s Tournament.

The requirements to field a team were:

1 player under 21
1 player over 35
1 player over 45
1 South African
1 player over 220lbs
And no more than 3 players who had played in a super league game before.

We played 4 games and won them all, making us the champions!

Our team name was the chainsaws.


Before the last two matches, we did the now famous Heartwood Chainsaw Haka (sp.?) .

Well thats encouraging - North Americans dispensing with girly body armour and playing a proper mans game!

Mind you, the ground looks hard. We don't tend to suffer from droughts or general sunshine here - easier on the hips and shoulders that way!

Actually, I only used to train with the rugby club (pint lifting mostly), but drew the line at playing - being self employed and requiring full body function to climb a rope and earn a crust was too much of a risk.

Looked lie a good do EZ. Did you have the obligatory outrageous post match beer party?
