Has any one used the ufo rig from rock exotica?

I have a home made flat style steel rigging plate, for zip lines, etc.

Say a pine I take my nylon loop slings cow hitch the limb biner it to the plate simple and straight forward the bouquet goes down in a row. Simple.
The ufo has just as many holes as a rigging plate but it's condensed so what I'm wondering is does the weight spread out the same say on a zip line and do the pieces get tangled and dumb when they crash down?

It looks like a neat piece of hardware not trying to knock it or anything just looking for details/ reviews.

Thanks

Nice piece of kit for sure.

When I setup bouquet lowers of multiple branches I used an oval rigging ring.

Super cheap and close to indestructible. YOu could buy 4-5 for the cost of the RE unit.

I talked with Bruce Smith from ON ROPE1 who was the initiator of the design. It came from a rescue rigging seminar where the found that so many anchors were coming in from different directions. Having the 3D setup allowed them to keep their static anchor ropes neat and in separate planes.

In our rigging I doubt that there would be much gain, and some loss, by using the RE unit.

Different length loops on a steel biner is ok. Start at the bottom with the longest and work your way to the biner. Could color code the lengths.

What about disposable loops made out of sisal or some other natural fibre. Unhook the clip and pitch the rope with the branch. Alot of time spent untangling them boquets.

Timberjack how does the ring work? Does it keep slings apart at all? Do u feed rope through before hand or do you biner it to a zipline or what?

I only use the ring when lowering multiple limbs. I tie the ring on using anchor hitch, or girth hitch when a large splice is available. I clip the slings to the ring with crabs trying to alternate gate direction. When zip lining I just clip the crabs directly to the line. Never needed to control anything I was zipping can't wait to try it though.

Ok cool. So its mostly a spruce/ pine tool then. Have you ever thought of using it as a haul back zip line top anchor? Do you think that you can balance limbs if you sling each end would the ring rotate?
