This apparently just happened.

Yes, it did not happen here in the states, however it illustrates an often understated point which is:

One of the most dangerous times we face in our business is right AFTER an accident happens.

Watch this video.

The dude is already down. But everyone is in a panic, moving WAY too fast, and not thinking about what they are doing.

They walk right over an uncovered/exposed downed line.

This dude lost his life for no reason other than being in a panic.

Look...... It is TOTALLY possible to train mind to respond correctly PRIOR to an accident happening.

I rehearsed the "remember... don't panic" montra, PRIOR! PRIOR! PRIOR! to this happening.

Once it happened, I remembered it... and I even mention it midway through the video. Funny too, because listen to my ground guy at the end. He is trying to rush me to get out of the tree.....

Train your mind first, and if you are still conscious (i.e. you still have it) after an accident, you can use it to keep another one from happening.

Terrible accident. I did see tha video before, maybe a year ago. Not recent at all.

I'd like to think that I could keep my cool in a situation like that but adrenaline can easily take over.

Good training vid, especially for those who have trouble following EHAP training and common sense. Great video for those who are with a victim to remind them not to become part of the problem.
