Two Climbers?

Location
Chicago
This one of those trees were one rigger and one cutter was a big benefit. The trunk is around 50" dbh. It has been hacked up and no longer has a t.i.p.

This limb is pretty close to the house. The job was scheduled for all day. We finished around 1:30 and sqweezed in a quicky to finish the day. I love it when that happens.

- I'm sure you do love it when you squeeze in another job. The crews reward for a job well done is more work for the day. The only way the crew would've made more money that day was if the first job went one or two hours into overtime. I'm sure they got a pat on the back an an "atta boy".

I remember those days , we called them "kickers" . " allright men , let's go get a head start on tomorrows job , it's real easy ...."

Don't get me wrong now , if I was hustling crews I'd do the same thing.
I work till dark now all the time , but the "kickers" pay well .

p.s. nice pics , I'm still using my junkie ol camera phone

Riggs, you crack me up. We had a saying a while back,"The harder you work the more work they give you". That was when I was a crew leader, single no kids and did not want to work late or weekends. I was still having too much fun. The crew on that job all have familys and do not want to here about going home at 2:00 especially when the weather is good. The crew leader called in about 2 hours before the job was done to hopefully get more work.

whenever we have a crane, we always have 2 climbers.
and when we finish early. boss calls it a day "ok, we made some money today, you all can have the rest of the day off"

He hits the ground, and then rides the ball to the next pick.

[/ QUOTE ] Those are the best jobs. A smooth flight up, do your thing and than race down. Can do that allll day long and still get zero sweat on the head.
