Tri-State Forestry Equipment

This will probably offend most people that read this. Used equipment is used equipment and no matter how clean the equipment is you're always rolling the dice. If a deal sounds to good to be true than it probably is. If you think buying equipment unseen is a good idea, well I don't know what to tell you. If you have the cash and can roll the dice, that's different.
These big used equipment dealers raise tons of red flags. They buy large volume, paint and re-sell. There's no history of the equipment and anything they tell you about it is a lie. Are these guys shady, unethical business owner, probably, but it goes back to the old saying, don't hate the playa, hate the game. They've scammed hundreds of guys and will scam hundreds more. A sucker is born everyday, welcome to America.
Unless you've done your homework on used equipment, buying new is the way to go. But the problem in this industry is that majority of guys don't charge enough to afford new equipment. They just kill the market.
Ok, let me have it.

I operate a pre-owned bucket truck company (BTS Equipment). We aren't shy about telling you that it's a used truck. I'll happily point out the dents and scratches that we weren't able to fix and when buying used equipment a buyer should expect that. BUT a buyer should also know that the truck is going to operate as it should. At our company we go through the chassis, cab, ground stations, pedestal, lower and upper boom, bucket and more to ensure you get a good product. Here's our website and phone number.... www.btsequipment.com 586.752.7480. If anyone calls or buys a truck from us and you're not happy I want to know. Here's my phone number, 586.630.7275.

I hate to start threads like this, but I wanted to give others a heads up on these guys. I got scammed out of $2100 by this company selling equipment out of Philadelphia. Long story short, he pressured me into a deposit on a truck and couldn't produce any vehicle history report and gave misleading and incorrect information and had rolled the vehicle miles back (which is of course illegal).

Once I paid to get the carfax and found the truck had 20K more than he was advertising and showed on the dash and that the vehicle had been in numerous accidents, I told him I didn't want any part of the deal. Well he kept the deposit and now I'm fighting to get the money back through Amex which may take some time. Hopefully this will prevent others from getting screwed by this scam artist. When I looked into it deeper, I found many similar issues with the seller. Do your homework, hard lesson learned!

It is not necessary to leave him a deposit he also tells you up front that the deposit is not refundable i bought a truck from him and have had good luck so far going on 2 years he is no different than smittys or usa truck or ga I'm not defending tristate but you have to do a pre purchase inspection that means physically go look at it do not by buy equipment from a photo bring a mechanic
