[/ QUOTE ]

NOT

NOR is it a Quercus prinus

and yes i am from Jersey BUT in Georgia now and that is where this tree be

you can even GOOGLE street view and MAYBE just MAYBE see me in it

34°18'40.76"N
83°49'33.12"W

HINT - one of you is VERY close - add something to that name and you have the tree -
HINT - Beech and Oak -
(think elm)

ya know - I may need to say that I was wrong in this identification - after looking more at the leaves. AND IF i am in error I will say what it is and the correct Identifier

as the end of the leaf is pointed not round.

Do you want the leaves and acorn caps?

Hi JZ-
The above attachment doesn't work.
And yes please put out ALL identifying items you have regarding this tree! Let's find out what it is

Okay, those leaves definitely look like Chestnut oak (Quercus prinus).
Do others agree with this ID?
If so, that would make Xman's guess the correct one.

good for you for admitting your original id might be wrong.

and even better for posting the leaves and acorn caps.

Unless there is an oak that is extremely close to Quercus prinus that I don't know about, I'd say that is Quercus prinus 100%.

what do others think?
--------------
diane wrote that at the same time as me by the way, i just had more text to write and her post went up first.
