Trees from a distance

Really? I've only seen a few Hackberry around my parts, and the only single one I've ever climbed wasnt terribly much smaller than that, big double stemmer. Guess I should be honored. :)

Is it so simple as just a big old acer platenoides?

Linden. T. cordata methinks.

American Basswood, you got it.

It is huge, I am afraid to get close to it.
This species hates Arborists. Shattered a friends shoulder like apple pie. Grabbed my rope and left me stuck in the tree in cold winter for about an hour, thought I was going to die. Had to man up and free climb.
Barnes feel asleep in the truck runnin. He was alot bigger than me and had this contagious laugh, so that was that.
If you leave a little bark on a cut it will peel all the way to the ground.Like rope it is.
Rots and hollows like crazy.
Produces nutlets that birds and mammals love.

Ok I've got one, it may take me a sec to embed it, or I might give up and just post a link

Not to be too anal... Basswood would be T. americana. I'm guessing it is Basswood and not T. cordata (Little leaf Linden)?
Beautiful tree! Where is that?
I was going to guess Fraxinus of some kind...

NB:
Is the new one some kind of Thuja? (putting out the obvious guess!

Yep T. americana. T. cordata. I thought that was close enough.
Tree is on Dundas St. east Galt Cambridge across from Gore Mutual.

Next time I'll hold out for specific epithet. Cultivar too?

Often times, yes.
It's an ID game - might as well be acurate.

Please don't take any offense to the clarification. I'm only asking for my own interest sake.
