Do you have a GRCS? The mounting plate has more going on than the bull rigger in that picture. Of course they aren't going to have the mounting straps on the truck mount, but surely more than square tube and a plate like you suggest. CNC cutting is your choice, not a necessity. I think the last 5" ratchet strap I bought was about $53. FWIW

I just think it was a lousy suggestion to say it's $50 in materials and a couple hours labor is all. Surely won't see me buying either anyways, but just saying. Can't tell you the last time I even used my GRCS, I just don't remember.

Hey man, I'm not trying to argue with you but I was a fabricator for 8 yrs before I started tree work and I am just going on what I see, which is about 6' of 2x2 square tubing a piece of 1/4" plate and a couple ft. of round bar and probably a couple of other misc small pieces. It can all be cut with a small bandsaw in anyone's garage. What I'm saying is it is a very basic device and nothing that requires any special machining. I use cnc to cut my devices out because it is clean, fast efficient, and everything I cut will be identical which is crucial when your doing production work.

That hitch mount could be bent in a heartbeat with a serious load.

I'm shocked they didn't configure 90 degrees off their present load axis so it would have to drag the truck forward or backward with a serious load. Atleast you could chock all 4 tires so it stays put.

Berry berry bad engineering!

Now to get that truck through a 3 foot gate, hmmm....

I could be wrong, but it looks like if you take the pins out of the 45 degree brace it would fold down flat to pull straight with the truck instead of sideways to the truck.
