tree working and hernias

I have my second hernia repair this January. Last one was done back in '98. I have had this hernia just over 2 years now. Does not bother me when climbing but feel the tightness occasionally on the fixed side. I pushed it off 2 times now and told them.do it after Christmas so I will be doing reports for a couple weeks when the weather is -50 again.

Had my second inguinal mesh repair a month ago, was laid out hard for ~2weeks and super rough shape. Did a pretty strenuous hike with boulder scrabbling last weekend and felt decent but sore. The irritation/soreness by the mesh is such a weird feeling, kinda like having velcro under your skin, but I can't remember how long that lasted (left side was '18).

Glad to have re-found this thread, been wondering how to predict the return to work. Surgeon said 4wks and should be all set, "probably do light duty work after two weeks", yeah right dude assuming I can't lift 10lbs and need to ice my bloating fucking belly. They are an odd breed and should be listened to with caution.

damn, that sux to get it twice, but glad you're already past surgery. Mine took 8 weeks for light duty work, but still felt like I couldn't go 100% until the 14th or 15th week.

that light duty was still good for lifting about 40-50 pounds
