Tree uprooting? Need professional advice.

Whatever you do don't damage to the roots with the lawnmower. Poplars rot easy and that will cause the tree to lose stability. If stability is a concern, you could reduce the top of the tree slightly and get it to leaf out further down.

Hey Guy, can exposed roots be covered or filled around with a porous soil to level out the ground to prevent mower damage? Is mulching around them better or worse? I run into this question a lot, and I'm wanting to find the best practice... Does it make a difference how long the roots have been exposed to air? (as far as being conditioned to air exposure but then covering again with material)

Yeah, I'm careful when going around /over roots. Moving my rock ring out a foot moved most of the larger exposed roots into the ring. I want to add some soil to this before light mulching.

yes adding porous soil is fine if you want/need to grow something there. Can't think of another reason not to use mulch instead.
Moving the rocks out was a good idea!
