Is the tree flex going to have additional gear loops in back or is the picture on your webpage the finished product.Also does it have sewn attachment points for carabiners for gear storage.it really seems kind of empty on back. most climbers these days need alot of places to hang gear,at least the climbers i know(me).

The gear loops aren't on the picture - there was a limit to what we could depict. There will be two horizontal gear loops behind each hip, and two vertical gear loops either side of the sacrum pad. There will be a handsaw D on both hips and leg loops, for light weight tools/pouches. There will be a hip loop for plastic gear krabs and one centre rear. The rear chainsaw clip point is a fixed twisted shackle that slots into a recess on the sacrum pad. The webbing can be pulled clear of the recess to fit first aid kits etc. We've improved the leg pads and padding and sacrum pad slighlty.
I've just got back from the back pad manufacturer, where we scribed these details onto the mould. It opened my eyes to what an exacting egineering process this is! The finished product is going to look really slick! The back pad material undergoes some kind of special extrusion process, which means recesses are formed where the webbing and gear loops fit. This means any crucial stitching and webbing has vastly reduced abrasion, because it sits slightly lower than the back pad. This is now ready for moulding the next batch next week. Then its over to the harness manufacturer for final assembly - we don't leave until we have a perfect product.
I'm trying to find a link to other products that have the same extrusion process, so you'll ahve an idea of how it will look.
Revised colours are Black pads with green webbing, blue attachment points and green gear loops. Contrast stitching.

I think it's fantastic that you are pushing the envelope of harness design and challenging the 'died-in-the-wool' previously conceived logic of all that we held sacred!! My hips now click and generally ache and so your words of wisdom (?) are of quite some comfort as are your designs if they live up to the hype!!
My only comment would be , there seems to be a bit of a harness 'race' right now, with two contenders chomping at the markets 'bit'. Neither of these seem to be available yet and I am not certain whether forcing the market with un-finished prototypes is an overtly positive thing to do. Yes it does generate interest but there is always the risk of putting people off the product who might not be savvy to its design stage/status.
We have all swung around in our current harnessess for this long, I'm sure the intended market are more than patient enough for you to perfect your product or rather it's prototype a little longer and release it, all guns blazing, to a fanfare and rapturous response!!!!

Its nice to know you appreciate where we are coming from with the TreeFlex design. I'm just frustrated we haven't the product ready yet.
The harness 'race' as you mention it, is unfortunate. Its obvious thats how people see it. But if you cast back to when I started the ergonomics threads, I hadn't mentioned TreeFlex project. That started with Jelte asking about it by starting this thread. Obviously the word was out so I thought it better to respond. The reason TreeFlex cannot be bought yet, is not because the design isn't ready, just that we have been up against certain manufacturers letting us down time and again. The product was supposed to be o the market before this thread started.
I had no idea that Chris, Mark and Beddes were working on TM, and I doubt they knew about TF. We jsut happened to launch about the same time (shoulder shrug). There is no 'race' with TM in our minds; the only race we have is rewarding the interest we have generated in TF and ergonomics. We are not just selling a product, it is just the material product that epitomises and supports our ethos on change. Which you obviuosly appreciate and we're very grateful for. Thanks, I hope TF will serve you well eventually!
TreeFlex is still not comparable to any product on the market, even with the arrival of TM. It is in a class of its own. It is up to the individual if they feel whether it serves a better purpose for them than the current designs.
So, its now up to us to get this sorted. I am currently pulling out all the stops to get the finished product to TCIA Expo. Whether that will be a working prototype or finished article depends upon whether the foam arrives we've been waiting for. Every time we have launched the product, we have been let down, so had to show the prototypes instead. Maybe we'll just forget TCIA if we only have another prototype - but I don't think Tom will be very happy!

We have made no negotiations with SherrillTree.
We are keen to avoid expensive on-costs that occur through import taxes, thereby keeping a unique and needed product out of reach of the everyday aborist. We want TreeFlex to be affordable by most climbers, because we know how much they will benefit from it; after the novelty of a new product has worn off, the design will ensure the wearer improves posture and core stability. That is 100% 'No Bull' - based on accepted bio-mechanical facts.
Providing an affordable product to the US market will entail some intensive ground work, and that may take a little time!
In the mean time, new developments and pics will appear on our website.

We are doing small batches of 50 of various sizes, until we can gauge percentages accurately. So, if you tried it and liked it and we discussed what size you needed, make sure you contact Saftey Technology. The first batches are being made to orders that come in.
Pictures coming soon (I've got some already but they're blurred - Tut! )
Colours are Green and black, with Blue tie in points (won't clash with Primary colour schemes for the fashion conscious
!).

We nailed the final production prototype a month ago. So its currently being turned out by the manufacturers. Over that I have little control. I expect the next two weeks should reveal something...(please God!).
