Tree Flex?

sorry, im a tad confused, i cant see how hanging a chainsaw in a central position could possibly work without constantly getting in the way of foor placement? and as for ringing down on spikes??

Steve, have you been in the pub already, or is it the heat? I have no problem with foor placement and as for ringing well I don't want to go there thank you!

I think he means centre back attachment of the saw while climbing, but also centre front attachmant is very common, just ask nod he still does it that way. i.e. hanging the saw from your centre attachment or on the sliding D attachment along with your rope. that way the weight gets transfered
on to the rope so no pull on the harness (or hips)

Have you enrolled for cardiff yet??

nod hangs on the ring which his bride is attached to, which is off centre, i tried that but didnt get on too well with it. having it right round the back seems a big of a pain aswell, but im up for trying anything that makes life better.
and no, i havent enrolled for cardiff yet. but i will...ive told too many people to back down now /forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

im dead keen to make a fool of myself

Thats correct Rupe. But with the TreeFlex you'll be able to clip it high centre back when branch walking, rather than all the weight on one side, or tugging the front attachment.

But the main importance is heavy saws when rigging. Hanging the saw centre back and wearing the simple chest rig distributes the weight through the spine and shoulders nicely, rather than trying to pull your harness off. Or anything else heavy for that matter.

Unfortunately not yet released in USA, Roger. But it soon will be!

The release date is 21st Sept at the APF trade fair, UK.

We recently met to finalise final finish/quality details.

The reports and feedback were very positive from the pole speed climbers at the Royal Welsh show.

I've also obtained another prototype to give a good thrashing whilst rigging this week on awkward trees (had an 22" DBH oak on a 60 degree slope over growing over prize shrubs, shed etc at 45 degrees - good test of balance). Its certainly better than anything else on the market for me - but then I would say that, wouldn't I? /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'll keep Tbuzzers informed of any further developments as soon as they arrive.

Won't be on TB for 10 days - off on hols in 3 hours, and I haven't finished packing yet!

More info:

45 size mediums will be available at the APF show. Colours are Black red and Green with contrast stiching.

I'd like to see you there one day for a chat Rupe and Steve - see how you find it to feed back to buzzers. We can set it up with SRT and DdRT so you can have a good climb in it.

Sound fair? (let me guess - giving you a TF gratis would sound fair? /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif Fortunately I'm not allowed in the sales department - I could give it away to everyone because I know how their back and hips will benefit)

see u friday, or saturday depending when you're free, or maybe even have a drink with you on friday night, will probably be around nods pitch!

hi everyone, well i got a chance to speak to paolo the past few days and also have a climb in his new harness. Overall i was very impressed, favourite feature defintly being the design and material used in the backpad. i really would like more time in it actually working and using a saw to feel the benefits paolo talks about. But in summary, i have a very short shortlist and this harness is defintly in it.

congrats on the design paolo
i certainly know one certain dutch guy who will be having one!!!

Paolo, sorry I couldn't find you in the mud on friday! I was there for about 3-4 hours and spent most of that hiding from the rain. I did get a chance to see the harness though. Someone had one at the treeclimbers forum. Didn't climb in it but liked the look of it and would agree with steves comments, the back support looks great. Maybe a little lacking in gear storage facilities would be my only concern.

did i read that right? /forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif

We don't want to float photos of a half finished prototype that might give the wrong impression - like Rupe stated, he thought it didn't have gear loops. Of course, the finished article will have.

We haven't talked with anyone in the US yet about distribution, because we don't yet have a saleable product (due to the manufacturing set back). I apologise for this, and assure you we will be working hard to get the finished article available to all soon. The US has always been a market for TF from day 1. It may be possible to get one over to Tom and mark for the TCIA Expo. But after the last set back, no promises.

For some interesting pointers on harness use, i posted a thread in training and health about weak backs.

As soon as I have a finished product that we're happy with, I'll post pics. It needs to look as good as it feels.

Thanks for your interest. Judging by the response we've had so far, I don't think you'll be disappointed. /forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif
