Tree Climbing Comp

[ QUOTE ]
...I have been rec climbing for almost a year...

...and I do not feel ready. I have not EVER done an AR, my footlock time is not yet under a minute (I am working on this), and and some of the other things are hard to replicate in a recreational environment.

Basically, I love to climb, but it does not seem like I know enough...

Welcome to the Buzz JDS!

I hope I'm not going to be the one who poops in the punch bowl, but I would say attend the TCC, but don't compete...Yet. If you are competing you will not observe as much as you would being a spectator.

I'm only concluding this from your own words above, I think you would be better off watching every step everyone makes. Look at the gear and how people use it. You will see maneuvers you have never seen before. You will see individual techniques and how efficient these climbers are.

You can always practice for another year and grow even more as a climber.

This is terrible advice. Jamin, you should be ashamed of yourself, go spend some time in your shame closet.

Jen should jump in with both feet at the Charlotte Arborists Association's TCC on April 4th. Nothing like trial by fire!

Yes, I love it! That is the 11th smartest thing I've ever heard, ever.

Zac, be quiet.
