I planted some western arborvitae to the deer wouldn't eat them... The bucks just girdled them by rubbing instead.

Sometimes we can’t win for losing!

Thuja plicata?

Yes...I planted some Green Giant's this past fall. But a couple of years ago, I bought a couple of an upright cultivar... I don't think there were 'Fastigiata' but may have been...I should figure that out again - they are at my shop.

I want to experiment with these junior Giants. Similarly there’s a dwarf river birch called Little King that would be so much more suitable when people plant them on the corner of the house. I saw a mature one in Tiffin, Ohio and it was perfect.
