OK, Submerged, I'll "bite" (ha), what's the story behind your avatar....and while your at it, your screen name is curious too....

Avatar- I was writing the safety manual for my company and had to put a section in about venomous animals, and in florida there are alot of nasty critters. While I was doing research i stumbled across this photo and I fell off my seat laughing. it's been my background ever since.

As for the screen name- I created my cyber alter ego while I was working as a dive master hence "submerged"

'Tree Climber's Guide' is also a good read.

So too 'The Art and Science of Practical Rigging', and 'Arborist Equipment'.

All available from ISA.

I would agree that these are good books to read.

I would also concentrate on conditioning your body to climb efficiently to avoid MSD problems.

Check out some of Lazarus2 posts on the Training and Health part of the forum. You'll find them very helpful.

Definatly check out the ISA web site sign up for your chapter and get looking into pro trianingg in trees. What you are learnin in the books is good low and slow, but what a trained arborist can show you is understanding holding wood, weak crothes, and other things you will not see in the books. With a grand account the first thing you do is get yourself a saddle your own saddle. The biggy thing here is read the threads they are informational plus the articles. welcome to the buzz.
