TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - A City of Toledo worker is expected to recover after getting a nasty electrical shock on Saturday. It happened along the 700 block of Moran in West Toledo.
Emergency crews say the man was trimming tree branches when the lift he was in hit some live wires. 7200 volts of electricity went through the man and set the base of the metal bucket he was standing in on fire, even melting the tires.
The severity of the worker's injuries are unclear, but rescuers admit things could have been a lot worse.
The worker was able to lower the bucket and emergency crews rushed him to the hospital. He is expected to recover.
Toledo Edison was called out to de-energize the wires.
