Todays jobs

Just a video of todays jobs. a windblown beech with meriplius, cleared with a tractor and winched over with the matador.
2nd tree was up, but had a rather questionable rootplate. the farmer had put a cable up it attached to a challenger crawler....was plenty safe to climb IMO.
caution, soundtrack contains couple of profanities

Looks like you were having fun. I love when there is room too safely swing! Keep safe...2 hands...and keep em coming.

You are a lucky man ...

I rarely get jobs that easy. Well, easy for the climber that is. I reckon you had got that down twice as fast as Ed with a lot less pose off.

Good on ya Steve, hey, when are you gonna get some helmet cam action ... would have been good there bombing those bits out.

Also, that long limb you bombed off, maybe let Derek know how to cut them so they don't barber chair.

So what was the deal with that blow over? Any warning signs? Decay?

All the wood stayed on site for now, theres a lot of storm damage here at the moment so we're running from one job to the next. hopefully some of that wood will come my way though!
Ekka. large tax bill has put a temporary hold on the helmet cam....good news is though ive finally made a decision on which one im getting.
the fallen tree had a huge mass of meripilus...it had been noted apparently....tree should have come down long ago, they were very lucky

just one thing though....compliments are always nice to get, but i'd prefer not to have them if they are purely a weapon of insult to a third party

Good job Steve, tree's down all over the place at the moment aye! It appeared like it was still blowing a little on your video. Take care.

open face....i like to cut in as deep as i dare with beech, then cut fast as i can for the back cut. long as the saws nice and sharp this technique works fine.
