Today....

The temp is rising now and starting to rain, snow is both melting and getting VERY heavy now, trees are going down all over the place. My buddy is the county road guy for our tiny tiny island and he had to cut 8 off the road just today.

I think we are going to wake up to a big mess in the morning.

Honestly, in my area winters are quite mild, this only happens a few times a year and only for a few days. Other parts of the country they work in snow and below freezing for months at a time. No thanks on that for me.

More downed trees though after exploring the island end to end, including a pretty huge mess blocking an entire road that is like 5 uprooted trees tangled together. Probably deal with it tomorrow. Snow is melting rapidly as temps rise and rain continues.

And also got the Milwaukee battery pole saw just today while checking the roads. After a few days I'll share some thoughts. I've got the most powerful Stihl gas, and the Husky, which I've never been super happy with. So plenty to compare it to.

Polesaws look lovely.

I did my first cat rescue today. Little dude was perched on the break out where the top came off last year. It was an Incense cedar that had been dead since the fire that burned the town down in '18, and it was only about 20" at the bottom and 60' tall or so. Not another tree within 100'. Kitty only hissed until treats were offered and then I had his cooperation. I think it helped that we were reaching the 96th hour since he'd been spotted up there. Little dude was 7 months old, so hopefully he learned a valuable lesson.
