Looks good from my house! Not sure I’m happy with this one, but here’s a heavy crown reduction on a pignut hickory- codom- house side. Also directly over the septic tank.
Before then after

Job well done. The cracked pine is down safe and sound, and it went exactly as I planned. Basically pruned out working space in neighboring trees, lifted it with the GRCS, pulled it sideways to clear the building with the Maasdam rope puller and justbrokebent the whole 90 foot tree sideways without a facecut since the core was so rotten and it was so sketchy. Unorthodox, but but made sense in the situation and man it worked perfectly.
Even though it went well, my brain is fried from the stress of the project, as it felt pretty hairy at times. Especially when the whole tree was hanging on the rigging and fibers were tearing out of the ground as we were moving it away from the corner of the building. I'll share a few more photos of the process later when I get some my ground guy took.

Stump or 10 sq. ft. of grass you have to mow... I'd leave the stump as well.Did a monster silver maple over the last two days. Very tight spot. Able to reach half of it with the bucket truck for the first day, brushed out and left the wood standing. 70 ton crane for the 2nd day, climbing the back half. Almost 7ft at the base, you can see how much strap I had left over on the Stein. Over 12 ft wide higher up. They wanted us to leave the bottom section, cut below the roof line. I have no idea why, but I wasn't going to argue.
Put the 50" bar on the 395 for only the second time in 3 years. What a tree...

I wanna do that in one of my trees. Most of the town would be able to see itGot the star going again today, after not doing it last year and being called out in public yesterday for not having it up
I'd actually left it up in the tree the whole time (lazy...) and half the lights on the star itself died, so today I went up, just zip-tied a new strand of lights onto the frame without removing the dead ones, and that way I didn't need to cut it out of the tree, bring it down, fix it and bring it back up. Worked great, and happy to finally have it on again for the season.
