Today....

Nice, big tree. Why so low on the stem with the pull line?
Two if you swipe over. Dead…they tend to be hollow rotten brittle untrustworthy. Fear of breakage. 15k winch on a hill. Back and side weight, stood up with the winch, then drive for speed. Line was probably about level. I figured I’d rather pull harder low than have something bust and total their house.
 
100’ crispy dead American Elm nice and tall so we took large cuts but super dirty.

I think we were looking at the same clouds yesterday! Nice job on the tree. That one photo looked like the leader was in mid-fell but nay. Big stump! Looks like one of those 3 hour crowns followed by 5 hours of raking!
