One nylon webbing strap, girth hitched, on the wrong side of the pick. In my opinion.
It should have been rigged to tilt the pick towards the crane's center pin.
Had the crane been right next to that pick and choked properly, even a pick that big would have been no problem.
Both climber and CO screwed up, and were lucky to escape bodily injury.
