time to upgrade my spurs, Keep my Buckinghamn get new pads, or buy Gecko?

Great choice Erwin. The Bashlin is the only spur available that has that lovely angled stirrup, that killer straight gaff design with the perfect angle, are super lightweight, and will truly last a lifetime. None better.

First time using my new Big Buck Velcro on the also new bashlins alum today. I was never able to understand why people were even talking about wearing short hiking boots under their spurs all day, now I do! I might still get a new pair of powerliner high boots because I found them more comfortable.

Also, I was surprised to see that I was able to strap my silky saw on the part of Velcro strap where the big metal buckle or rectangle ring is, just the angle is not as good as in the regular buckingham Velcro wrap pads. Overall, good experience.

Been using the old steel Buckingham with Velcro for the past 16 years. My options now is either get the big buck Velcro and keep the old iron (maybe get a pair of pole spikes), Or get the Gecko alum. For those who wear the Gecko all day on big removals, are they really comfortable? Thx for the input. Erwin
I’ve had my geckos for over 4 years doing removals 6-7 days a week and they are still going strong. Very confortable and lightweight. The screw does keeps gets loose once in a while since day one.

I have some remorse over my dmm geckos after trying on a set of KK2 climbers.
I have never felt anything like them. I am in love.
Ron Thurner said that the edelrid talons he had were even more comfortable than his kiwis. He also pointed out that the bulk of the stirrup is a large part of why I'm always switching to spurs for the log after working the canopy sans spurs.
I could see actually limb walking in those little guys. The way that the straps set is huge.
