throwline technique when hiking or traveling.

Nice dmonstration. You know someboday is going to ask how you initially wound your throw line so it deploys smoothly. I haven't viewed all your other videos, so I don't know if you showed that aspect before. I use a folding cube with my Big Shot, but I do wind my throw line like you did above and stuff it in a small throw-line bag.

Thanks. At about 2:20 in this video I show how I coil it. One important thing, after you've done all the Thumb to pinky rapping you need to give it some tight raps about 10 times to keep everything in place. It is amazing how well it plays out.

That is a really cool tip. I've been flaking mine out on a tarp for some time now, but I'll have to give this a try when I go out tomorrow. I've got two coiled up and ready to go.

Thanks for the second video. Glad I watched to the end; I like that mid-line throw weight technique.

What en eye for detail Tuebor.
I mid-line my throw weight a lot, not always, in the right setting but I do like it. Comes in very handy when you have a little snag or small branch next to the TIP you are going for and so often, without mid-lineing, the bag just hops over and you are back to square one. It also gives my more lateral movement and control of the bag as I move the line into the place I want it. Last, there are times when pulling the bag up, even a heavy bag, it gets stuck and this gives me a chance to pull in back down. Oh.....and those times when you just want to hop over a little snag and you don't have the bottle trick, you can use some momentum, kind of a see-saw and get the bag hopping back and forth over the limb a few times until it just jumps right over the twig or stub.

Can't wait to try it. As a newbie to this hobby, I can see where it will save my neighbors from hearing a lot of profanity.

While I haven't tied a bag on mid line due to the height of my typical TIP, I frequently achieve the same thing by attaching a second line to the second bag. It works great as long as the bag is heavy enough to bring down two lines.
