throwball

No gloves is nonsense. The blue, sticky wonder gloves and any of that ilk will improve your productivity! Period!

Plus, you can grab some asss w/o getting shot down!

My wife hates me holding hands with her until I use lotion on my hands.

[/ QUOTE ]

It rubs the lotion on its skin. It does this whenever it is told

Now that is funny.

I always use my right hand thowing my throw line. I use my left hand as a fairlead when the line is running out (lightly). Well, one time I threw the bag, not knowing a loop had formed around my lefthand pinki finger. You guessed it. It went snap! Pinkie nearly broken. Hurt for at least a week. /forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif

my wife is always amazed when she shakes another man's hands how soft they are...

Masterblaster, I do use those blue sticky gloves(wonder gloves) every now and then but i believe that they slow me down. I have way better feeling and control without them. And no worries I still can grab the @$$ it just gives her something to crab about!

Rogerm my dad works an office job and his co workers always ask what do you do for a living when they shake hands with me.
Stumper that I will consider the next time I want to give the neighbors something to watch( do not set line if half mast)
MB I use those smurfies with just the tips cut off, beyond that I use M- pact glove from mechanic.

1st shot learning to use Big Shot... ball cruised a whopping 10 or 15 ft. when the line snagged at the top of the pole, whipping it back at me hitting me in the top of the thigh... I limped for an hour or 2. I learned quickly how not to do that.
Rough hands.... 2 of us rush to swat a toy ball from the air, one of us gets a little too close to the ball with our head, one of us gets slapped to sleep and into stitches.... guess which one was the tree worker :)

years ago my line got caught somehow on my bigshot too. It too only had gone about 10 to 15 feet. It came back at me instantly it seemed, hit me right between the eyes. Both nostrils gushed blood immediately (but my nose bleeds easily when hit anyway). If it was father down on my nose, it probably would have broken it. It didn't knock me out either, but did daze me a little. Somehow I don't think I got black eyes either. I think of it every time I shoot it now and make sure the string is routed right.

later,

I had a throwline shoot back over my head and the line (zingit) went over my left ear and I thought it got cut off. I ripped off my hard hat and glasses jumping up and down trying to put out the 5 alarm fire on my ear. I also cracked a rib trying to outrun a bad return pull while shooting into the sun. AND...I confidently threw from someones deck into a tree out in their yard and it bounced back at me...the glasstop deck table literally splashed up as if the bag fell into a pool. Throwing near traffic could turn tragic in MANY ways. What if a throwline got captured by a car? Under the right circumstances it could take fingers off or knock a chainsaw operator off ballance into a horrible chain reaction. They're a blast to work with but I always warn greenies and vets alike of my experiences and other hazards.

Re: throwbag

Hi all

All this talk about "throwballs" reminds me of the time that i stood on my line and the throwbag recoiled back and hit me in the b-lls (you know, where it hurts). I was down on the ground with a trainee up the tree. He was wondering what was taking me so long to come up and help him out of a tricky spot.
Actually i am surprised so many of you use "throwballs". I find throwbags much more user friendly and bounce around so much less than those solid things (throwballs).
