Climbed again today and the tree ALMOST got the best of me. I was aiming for one crotch and would accept only that crotch. It was about 10 (less then 15) throws before I get the line right where i wanted it.

Don't sell your self short. You did 71 vertical feet but where did you stand to make that shot. Time to do a right angle triangle and see how far the actual throw was. Probably closer to 100'. Great throw.

ok if not 150 - i am hoping it be 200 foot and i am one happy pirate. - BUT i see your point.

Next time i hit that mark i will get the footage out from the tree that i start at, i also want to start using a lighter throwbag, i guess mine to be a dime or 12oz.


I would love to start leaving flags in trees and have the next climber replace it BUT I will mostly be that next climber, plus that would be littering.

about srt - i had a chance in colorado and will be thinking of that, i was hoping to get with the person that starting me climbing, hoping that they might be able to spend time with me on that, not sure though. for now - more Ddrt and go to a closed hitch. need the tree legs and more comfort in the trees.
