Thoughts on TreeRex Saddle?

Looking to purchase my first truly modern climbing saddle. I went down to Gap Arborist supply so I could sit in a few saddles. Of the ones he had on hand, the TreeRex seemed to be the most comfortable. The Strider Tree review on youtube was positive with the caveat that the backpad was not quite as comfortable as the Evo and the lower D's were a bit smaller than he liked. I also saw there were some buckle issues at one point, but thinking that has been corrected. Anyone out there have any other thoughts about the TreeRex I should be aware of before biting the bullet?

Just FYI for stats I am a 6'0", 240lbs guy who does climbs for pruning and removal in the PA area.

Also, a more particular question I have is about suspenders. I forgot to check the saddle if there would be a way to add suspenders to the rig. I know Edelrid makes a pair particularly for the TreeRex, but wondering if I could customize the saddel for say a monkey beaver set.

At 240lbs the buckingham ergovation with it's top harness is prob your best bet. You are a big guy. I am 6' and 174 which is slim. You will need the extra support. Gap should have one. The TreeRex is pretty gimpy looking. Seems suited for smaller climbers. Monkey Beaver might be a thought with it's integrated suspenders.

Unfortunately Gap was out of stock with most of their modern buckingham saddles when I was there.

One if the guys that works with me is using a treerex it's a nice saddle and he likes it he's 5'7 and like 145 lbs though. I'm in the tm pro and happy with it I'm 6'2 185. I use these suspenders I don't see how they could really get any better I've tried a few others and these are the best so far they have plenty of loops to clip stuff on to in the front the padding is thick and cushy but breaths well. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-U...liding-Black-Suspension-Rig-HD-0027/321217331

@Vicente, Cool, thanks for the recommendation on the suspenders. Could you sneak a peak at your buddies saddle to see if you think you could attached those suspenders to his saddle?

He's using the same suspenders I am, I think there's places for them to clip right on otherwise we might have made little loops with throwline, pretty positive they clip directly on though.

Thanks @oldoakman. It had been on my short list originally. Just wasn’t a way to try it out. Think maybe I should see if I can order one to try out. Do you rock the extra leg pads or not?

Kludge I was just in the same position you are looking for a new ride.
Im 6'4" 215 out the shower and the monkey beaver 2.0 size with suspenders and optional leg pads is the most comfortable I've worn yet. I've never tried the treerex and haven't worn suspenders previously on any saddle, but damn, am I glad I did. M.b. has adjustment points for lumbar support and clips for the legs. Heres a bad picture of new out box tossed on couch lol.. shows the extra leg pads and suspenders backwards20230623_202544.jpg

Mine is also MB v1 and no extra leg pads needed. I've just added the suspenders a few months ago and they make a huge difference. I wouldn't fly without them.

Thanks. I added some basic suspenders to my current saddle and love having the support. So that’s why I was asking about the Treerex, I don’t really want to give them up.
