Things that likely frustrate every climber at least once in their career

- throw line

- removing a small branch with a pole saw and doing everything you can to get a clean cut but it peels on you.

- bar getting pinched

- running out of gas right when you’re about to make a cut or halfway through a cut

- trying to isolate a crotch on a DdRT climbing system

- spur climbing hardwoods and gaffing out

- rope man not letting it run

- working solo and having to play the role of both climber and ground person

- bugs / mosquitoes

- poison ivy, oak, etc.

- oak trees just because they have so many small little branches, etc.

What else?
Reaching for the pull cord on my new Stihl MSA 220 TCO battery saw before making a cut.

throwing a chain and not having a T wrench..

cramping up just before the last couple cuts so you have to get back up there tomorrow.

getting stung from a nearby hornets' nest that's not even in your tree

having to teach a groundie how to tie two ropes togethe from 50'

getting shut down by noise ordinance just before you finish

locust thorns poking holes through your gloves no matter how careful you try to be

getting teased by the customer's twin daughters who are clearly more intersted in having sex with each other than having sex with you.

accidentally leaving the gate ope and having to chase the dog through the neighborhood

not getting paid becasue you cut down the wring limb, even though it was writting on the proposal.

watching a ground guy pick up your climbing saw and one-hand it while cutting brush and promptly run it into the ground or in one case a rock.

and everyone's favorite when the groundie doesn't put the gas cap on correctly and you soak your leg...

When I am the only guy with a protos… or any Bluetooth device and I have to keep lifting up my ear muffs to talk to the boss and groundies.

The crew I’m with are high end other than there ppe they have some it’s just basic.

At least you have someone to talk to, even if you have to lift your muff. I work alone 90% of the time. The good part is I don't have to listen to anyone. Be nice to talk with someone though, as in, send up the other saw, or pull my rope out from under the limbs. If I worked with others, I would definitely want some communication equipment. Cut down a tree for a friend about a week ago and was horse from yelling at him to get out from under where I was working. Not a tree guy so there was a stupid gene working on his end.

Yeah I’m used to working with small crew my first job was 13 years and we had 4 people max.

I’ve had 3 jobs.. all tree work.

My new job has 12 people on the pay roll. We’re from northern ny and work all year round. Not always trees. It’s just so weird and hard having to like all these new personalities.

I’d rather work alone too and listen to music or podcasts I’ve just gotten into podcasts this year
