Thimble in Petzl Ascension bottom hole?

[ QUOTE ]
Is there a thimble that will fit that hole? Seems to be a 6/10th inch hole. Thanks.

Sounds futile to me, any thimble that fits will take up too much space in the hole. I round the cross section below the hole with PC-7 epoxy to make it webbing and cord friendly, works great. Don't use the hand moldable epoxy "sticks", stuff hardens too quick, you need some working time to do a quality job.

Can I get paid for passing on all my hard-earned secrets?

Not sure were talking about the same "Hole" but I use a small shackle from the butterfly saddle. Can be purchased as an individual piece from the manufacturer, is pretty inexpensive and allows room for a thimble.

Well, epoxy is permanent... I thought maybe a metal teardrop shaped thimble might fit and provide a nice round curve for a strap to sit on. The hole doesn't need to be very big for a 15mm strap to fit through. A small delta or screw link or shackle would be another option, but I thought a thimble might be fairly rattle free.

It's been pretty standard practice in caving/mountaineering/big wall climbing to girth hitch webbing to the bottom hole. Using rope you might consider a thimble.

Ive always girth hitched a webbing sling directly to the hole with no noticeable wear. Now the only thing attached to the lower hole (normally) is a foot loop.

This one might work.

To answer your question- yes: there is a thimble that will fit it.

But to address the issue, as has already been stated. With webbing it wouldn't be necessary.
