The Neighborhood Super Swing

I always thought that squirrels chewed on trees and rocks to keep their teeth ground down....

All rodents need to chew to keep up with their front teeth which grow continuously. If you have a pet mouse, it will get pretty desperate and chew on anything, just nibbling their food doesn't do the job. Wild rodents have plenty of reasons to chew for nourishment and for tree felling (beavers), or to get trace minerals in their diet. Porcupines are famous for destroying well-used axe handles, they're after the salts from human hands. A wild rodent doesn't need a random chew toy, whenever it's gnawing on something, there's a reason.

Gandalf chews whatever he likes, he might have magical powers.

Our local albino squirrel making some magic a few years back! It's tough for the albino squirrels, hawks have an easy time spotting them.

Nice! They could survive a lot better in Minnesota if they learned to sleep in the summer and stay up for winter when the world turns white. But then there is the food supply problem and danger of turning into a squirrelsicle at 40 below.

Talk about bringing back old memories! When I was stationed in the U P of Michigan @ K I Sawyer AFB, I purchased a home in the outskirts of Gwinn, MI with 80 acres, every season that I went squirrel hunting, I had 3 Albino Squirrels, which threw me a curve, since growing up on the North Shore of MN, I had never seen one before. They became very friendly (almost pet like) , for some strange reason I rarely saw them in the warmer seasons. They were at the feeders everyday during the colder seasons. Nonetheless, just rambling on about Albinos during my life time! They are truly wonderful, but they're still rodents. [emoji24] sad/but still a nuisance to most!
BTW, have a Safe and Prosperous New Year to Everyone!

Rodents are cool too ;-) They have their place, they're the food pantry for all the sharp-tooth and claw critters out there. Beavers were the first hydraulic engineers and shape ecosystems like no other. But I digress, red, black and gray squirrels under my feeder. The red squirrel is the feistiest. I watched one do a flying head butt on a gray squirrel under the feeder, fun animals.

Ha! Love it. I want to do a rigid circular frame about 5-6 feet across and then rope-net the center with that 1.5 inch soft three strand braided rope. With a running leap, it should drift for a while.

Pull back for launch, we set up a ramp against the tree trunk to scrape of off, possibilities are endless, some of the best rides are the running jump circular ones, get to work on tricks, upside down hangs etc.

I would be all over that, not sure my wife would be too keen on me upside down, she has this weird idea that I'm not 19 anymore, she might know something I don't after being married to me for 21 years though.
