The latest Matt Cornell harness

I was a little disappointed that the Buckle and waste band is sewn into the back pad. I want to mess around with a few of my own ideas, but this would require some sort of buckle belt independent from the pad.

Ended up changing cordage for the Valiant. I went with Samson's 10mm XLS3 (6300lbs), black whipping, and ISC rings. This all poly rope is super tough, super strong, easy to splice, and a true 10mm. I love the finished product and highly recommend the XLS3 for these rope saddles. Finished up my day on the front porch splicing up the leg pads. I will get the rest done this weekend and post a pic of my new rig. Pretty excited about this one!

Looking good!! I like it much better without that white thread!!

I just test climbed mine in the park. I used Samson Warpspeed 2 10mm and platinum for the bridge. I co

The dyneema core of the Warpspeed is very slippery and very few knots will not slip, and can it can slide out of the cover right out of the knot. The Polamar, Water Bowline, Figure 8 on a bight, and the Estar are the ones I’ve seen hold, but all broke at about fifty percent of the rope’s break strength. No problem with the 10 mm line for a harness.

If I sew the ends do you think that will take care of that issue?

That’s an excellent solution, the Estar is the only cinching hitch of the group, a Buntline that goes around the object being tied to and then back through the clove hitch portion.
