weird.Not for me.
not for joke itself, but rather a coworkers misunderstanding of itThat is the entire joke? And that got you fired?
Sounds like the co-worker complained, not the customer, which is even worse in my books. If I'm working with someone and something gets said that they take offense to, I'd hope they would come to me first and either ask for clarification or just straight up tell me, "I don't appreciate blah blah blah and don't ever say something like that around me again."That said, Imo it wasn't the joke that got you fired, it was basically showing poor judgment around client interactions. Paying clients get to be however sensitive they want about whatever dumb crap they want!
Curious if you can think of any reasons why that joke may have been upsetting to those particular clients?
He was training me on the tech side, before they set me loose on the trees, but despite being there for two years, he wasn't at the pay rate I was started at. I think he was jealous, and this was a planned sabotage.Holy shit, I’m sorry that is stressful and good riddance. Any indication if the coworker felt treated by you? Where they your superior and are they feeling insecure, or are they really that stupid.
I can understand where intent matters little, but this is a whole different level of crap.
We got dark humor too. At least in ChicagoSo sorry to hear this!
Who doesn’t know what ‘dark humor’ is?? Are you in the Midwest or something??
I did get that from HR at my firing. He thought "dark" meant jokes about dark skinned people. According to HR, it doesn't matter what my intention was, but only how it is recieved.
