.... Anyone have rope flattening issues?...
No, firstly it isn't rated and even if it was it wouldn't allow the hitchhiker to function properly as it would be pulling up on and completely unloading the carabiner.Wesspur has an affordable hitch hiker tether with sewn eyes from rit cord. I wonder if that item can also be used as a ddrt anchor.

I have one if you want it.
It looks to be made with standard sewn splices of rated cordage ( rit cord 8mm ), although this would have to be corroborated by Wesspur. Additionally, the carabiner friction isn't even necessary to use the device in ddrt mode. Unless I'm missing something, the friction hitch should hold, especially when combined with the dogbone. It still might not work because of the orientation and combination of hardware, I've never tried it.No, firstly it isn't rated and even if it was it wouldn't allow the hitchhiker to function properly as it would be pulling up on and completely unloading the carabiner.
I've used their tether and the stiffness of it keeps the eyes away from HH2 slots. Its almost too stiff and needs to be used for a while to get the right shape. Also if it is indeed RIT 8mm, that cord has an aramid sheath which is very strong. Anyhow, Congrats on sourcing a hitch hiker holster!I've tried to make my own after that style, and it seems the eye towards the spine of the carabiner gets between the HH2 and carabiner and gets cut. But maybe my cordage was just a little to large in diameter.
