The best throwline?

Nice review. I got one too but haven't used it much yet. It took awhile to get it to fold right so that the buckle holds it closed.

Either one is good the green does seem more broken in fresh off the reel while the orange needs to run through a few crotches.. Work it into submission. Then bound for penetration

Another vote for dynaglide. Great line. I use the orange line, and it never does get as soft as the green, but I like it and can see it better.

I attach carabiner to throwline (like six wraps biting on top of the first wrap) and just walk it out. Especially with all that friction you guys get from the tall Doug Firs. Saves the hands. No more soars on the bottom side of your pinkies : )
Nice move mike, garret uses that very often. Maybe he picked it up from. Always do this with visor down if you've got one! Garret took a busted line whipper to the lip last winter.

Does pretty good for me. Plus I can always put my grippy gloves on to protect my digits.

I use and love the strength of Zing-It. Haven't really tried other name brand lines yet though. I don't pull on throw line too much anymore using just my hands, gloves or no gloves. Early on in my climbing days, which was not that long ago, it felt like the throw line was so sharp on my hands that it was causing nerve damage or something. The fingers would feel a bit numb after doing it. Now I try to always use the long metal handles of a slim, light weight pair of pliers that I keep handy. I can wrap it as many or as few times as it takes to pull the line without slippage.

No more numb fingers.

Yeah. Good for you. I still haven't figured it out. Lol. It's only half closed. Teach me master!
I've have those little boxes in use for two years, and in my experience, you shouldn't fold it all the way. The wires in the box rim broke quite easily. So, just fold the sides down. Keeps the line clear even better.
Cube is still number One:)

It was awkward at first. I'm right-handed.

1) Position the cube with the storage bag on the left and the male part of buckle on the right side.

2) Fold down the side closest to you, then the back side so that the male buckle is on top.

3) Twist the right side under, away from you, to form a figure 8.

4) Fold the two sides up so that now each part of the buckle is on the exterior and meet at the top.

5) Buckle and stuff into the bag, and put something heavy on it for awhile to help mold it into the proper shape.

Good luck!

On the Stein cubes, it's marked Open and Close, with arrows.

When I'm going to close the cube, I rotate it avoiding to the Close arrow. Then, when it's flat, in going from it being open to closed, so I flip Open over to the Close. Now, as a triangle, there is only one way to fold it. Fold it. The buckle is always in the right location.

Easy to mark any cube as such. Easy for Groundies to learn.

12 & 14 oz with Dynaglide but now you have me wondering which throwline is better with heavier weights?
