termite infested hickory

I have a client who has a hickory tree on a piece of property he plans on building on. The base has a bad spot from an injury long ago and the start of termite infestation. The tree, despite the termites at the base, seems really healthy.

I have no experience with the application of pesticides.

The client and myself would love to save this tree if at all possible. Has anybody had any experience treating for termites and been succesful?

I am going back in a couple days to excavate at the base and see how far they have made it into the tree.

Will try to post some pics later!

I have termites in my house and have done lots of research as far as treating for them. The chemical all the pros use is available online and pretty much has a 100% effective rate. Here is the link to what I bought

Around here the banks require to show proof that a new construction building site has been treated for termites before construction begins before they will approve a loan.

There is also a 20 oz bottle for sale for cheaper.
