termination for floating prusik

At minute 2:44 of the Hitchclimber's Guide to the Canopy, he names the type of termination used on his climbing line. It sounds like "slace" termination. I can't tell from the video exactly how the line is terminated, and as far as I know "slace" isn't a word. What exactly is he using?

I have one in the end of my (around one month old) tachyon. It is definitely slimmer than most any eye splice Ive ever seen, but it is around as stiff. I like it. The dealer who sold it to me told me that they have to take the core out to splice it, so they sew a dyneema sling like a rock dogbone in there. He does most of the splices there himself, but he told me these are done in USA. It adds a lot of $$$ to the cost imho, I got 35 meters but for the money I spent if id forgone the slaice I probably could have had 60meter or so.
