Tenex Diameter

I got some tenex in a bag of rope and I'm having trouble with the diameter of this stuff. When Its under tension its almost rectangular and measures about 14mm x 21.5mm. where its taped at the end tightly together its around 16mm round. when I try and squeez it tightly in the middle to round it out it comes to around 18mm. I'm guessing its 5/8 but I wanted to make sure how you measure this stuff.

Hey, @Shniggysaurus! Welcome to the TreeBuzz forum! I think you are going to like it here.

Having said that, I'm no help to you regarding splicing, as it is not something I've tried to do (yet). My only pointer is for you to use the "@" symbol followed by the name of a member that might have an opinion you'd care to hear. Using the "@" symbol generates a notification to that member that their name has been mentioned in a post, and all they have to do is click on the link to be vectored right to your post.

I saw that @Worthaug had responded to your very first post, and he'd be a great one to give you an answer for this one, also.

I also just got a bag of rope from TS, along with some splicing tools. I'm also a virgin at splicing so I'll be learning as well. Welcome to the forum!

And I believe I should have said tenex tec since there are two strands.
 
I was thinking you could special order any color of tenex tec if you buy enough length. Does treestuff.com sell yalex right now?? I'm hoping yalex splices the exact same way as tenex tec as I already made a loopie with the class I single braid instructions.

I just got some of the same tenex in a bag of rope. Never used tenex before so i was having the same dilemma figuring out its size due to its flat shape. I just made a loopie too. Lol
 
To all. Any polyester 12 strand hollow braid splices the same including but not limited to Tenex, Tenex Tec, Nerex, Yalex, T Rex...etc.

Well i sure am glad yall had some laying around. Made a bunch of slings which is good because we didn't have many. I ended up ordering another bag o rope and got more 5/8 (80ft) and 1/2 (65ft) already paid off in just 2 slings. And then the 25ft of 3/4 dynasorb from the first bag, had it spliced locally for the portawrap. Not bad for $90!
