Sweating in a Kask

What have others done to alleviate the problem of sweat landing on the inside of the Kask visor and blurring the vision? The past few days have been the first hot days since I bought my Kask helmet and I have spent a great deal of time either cleaning my visor or trying to see clearly past the sweat streaks that drip from the headband down onto the visor. Has anyone else had this problem? Also, do others think the Kask is warmer to wear than the Petzl vent?

my visor gets so rittled with dust that I tried cleaning it for the first week or so, then gave up. Ill run the visor under water and gently rub clean in the morning, dirty it up and then clean it the next day. I do no clean during the day unless i can spare the water, but usually i drink it instead.

It looks hot inside there...

Spoken like someone who has never worn one.

They are simply the best helmets one can buy fo rthis line of work, comfortable, light, fit well, sit low on the head, and are priced same as Petzl.

This was the first hot day here in Austin and working with a Kask in the summer. It was 95 degrees and climbed hard and fast for seven hours removing ballmoss from a large live oak. I do agree that the Kask is hotter than the Vertex but the tradeoff is that Kask doesn't give me a headache like the vertex did. It's a far superior helmet and I work in over 90 degree weather for six months at the time and I 'll still be wearing it. I couldnt give up the clear visor now either.
As far as sweat pouring sown the visor, I've never had that problem, and I do sweat a lot.

Next week when I get back to pruning I'll do a basic vent test between the Roc and Kask. the guy who is my groundie has the Roc. We have to haul brush loads, using a Gator/trailer, out to the dumpsite in the woods. We'll swap helmets and compare notes on each of the trips.

The comfort of the Kask is the best! It doesn't jiggle around on my head at all. I doubt that it is too much warmer. I wonder why anyone buys a dark helmet for typical work.

Jesse, why dont you ditch the safety glasses and just go with the shield. I guess it's dryer in Phoenix but here it's great that the shield doesnt fog up. I always disliked glasses

Your earlier reply seemed to track with the OP pretty good.

Guess it depends on whose head it is.
