Is there a name that descibes this trait? I was taugh some trees are able grow like that as to where others cannot and just rub and interfer. I always feel stupid when speaking with a customer and cannot reference what it is called?

I just know it as a branch, limb or trunk fusion depending on where it is on the tree. Some species do it more than others, I've never seen it on white pine.
