Sugihara Bars

Steve Connally

Been here much more than a while
So I've put a sugihara bar on the 441 and the 361. These bars seem significantly longer than the oem bars. I don't suppose that's a problem but the notch in the base of the bar where the bar studs are is showing outside of the sprocket cover. Is this an issue?

Also the bar for the 361 has a significantly larger hole for the tensioner stud than the actual stud. There's a bit of slop in there. I wonder if it's because the saw is 15 years old or if the part was mislabeled somehow. Do you guys think this slop is an issue or do other saws have a larger diameter tensioner stud? If so can I switch it out for a snug fit? The 441 doesn't have this issue and the oem bar on the 361 fits snug so I'm wondering if it's a sugihara thing to make it fairly universal for stihl and husky.

Yup, truth in advertising!! The universal mount part number starts in SV. The stihl part number starts in ST. Evidently the stud on the husky is bugger than stihl. My 441 bar came with 2 sets of tensioner holes so I was able to make it work. I don't have much room to tighten though. The 361 is the real issue.

Digital micrometer would be best. I was just going to build some round bushings but I can cut one of those adapters on the water jet too. Call me when you have a moment and I can walk you through it.

I can get the specs for the Stihl bar stud but not too sure about the bar. If it's the same as a husky bar no worries I have a few around.

Are you having a problem Steve or just questioning? I would want stud bushings in the bar slot but the tensioning hole does not bother me.
