Suggestions on new climbing saddle???

tree austria 3 i have the motion, if i had it to do all over i would get the tree austria it has a fall arrest option and a bosun seat option.

Sherrill's %150 price crusher saves me plenty, even over the local arborist supply store, only down side is they dont have free shipping like WesSpur.

Do you prefer leg straps or a seat? Some saddles as im sure you noticed can be changed out to have either or. I have the Butterfly II and love it. Super light, very adjustable, good back support, good places for hardware (though it lacks attachment points 4 them, in turn keeps the over all weight down I guess).

If $500 is your budget then go on and buy the TreeMotion, thats what id get given your allowance. All the above suggestions are great ones. I like the buckingham saddles but straps and floating D's are out dated and non-replaceable in most cases. So the longevity of the highly adjustable newer saddles is definitely a plus!

I heard the bridge strap does not last long on these saddles, and it isn't replacable.

They last just fine considering. Plus on the TA3 the bridge is now connected to rings. If itwears out a simple replace of rope bridge can be done.

I need a bosun seat. I cant get with the leg straps, dont know hoe ya'll do it. the dragonfly 9butterfly with the bosun seat has done me well for over three years.

i really like my buckingham traverse floating d's 4 easy movment and a hard seat 4 when ur in a tree 4 a long day. it all boils down to what u feel comfortable with and what u do mainly. lots of great choices out there.

Treemotion is great for pruning and gives all the comfort when breaking down a tree on your spikes. The best option on the TM is the dubble pair off D-rings in wich you cam change the presure on your back and legs by chaniging the attachment hight off the flipline.

Sequioa is my favorit and it's a super lightweight and damn fast belt (with me in it off course)

I have had a butterfly 1 conversed with the legpads from a butterfly 2 and that was the best over all. But it's completely worn out and not for sale anymore.

If you go for comfy and not so much for weight then the Treemotion is the belt to buy. It isn't cheap but it will fit like a pair off old jeans and your backsupport will be the best ever. I've seen that a lot off climbers here think it will sag off and you can only use it with a suspender. I'm 1.87 metet high and 70 kilo's and my belt is not going down when loaded with a MS 660 !! - it's not comfy anymore but usually I climb with my MS 200 T :-)

Good luck and try some belts from other climbers and make your desicion after you have tried some different gear. Thats how we do it here in europe. We learn from each other.

Has anyone tried the treeflex? Pros and cons? It is on sale at Bailey's right now. Or do I just pony up the dough and go with the Treemotion? I didn't like the way the Cougar leg straps were so thick. They pinched me . How about the TM and Treeflex. Are the pads a little thinner?

Bfly II has the d-rings so far aside thats a pain in the back to clip in the chainsaw behind the d-rings.

Bfly I had the d-rings more towards the front and was better in my opinion. But your absolutely right that the butterfly is a great saddle and you can expect better durability from it than the TM or sequioa.

BB, I was trying to research this last night after I posted it and I wasn't having much luck. I hope I didn't jump the gun but I am pretty sure that I saw a few on some website that I can't seem to find right now. I'll keep looking and if I am a liar I will admit to it. Sorry!
