Suggestions/Help

We are having an extremely hard time finding a tree climber with any sort of experience here in the Midwest. Between the Illinois/Iowa/Wisconsin borders and have been putting so many jobs on hold. Any suggestions on where to look or other sites in finding help? Or people in that area looking for work? We are at a loss.

Train someone? you have some guys that work with you already, right? Do none of them want to advance in their career?

We have a lift, but we need someone with experience to use it and that is where we are struggling. There doesn't seem to be a lot of people in the area with that kind of work experience.
Good luck unfortunately it’s a dying trade less and less people are interested in this trade.
The newest generation do not want to work especially manual labor for the most part but the ones that do will do well because of the shortage.
This is one of the reasons knuckle booms have become so popular.
My opinion

Are there any contract climbers in your region? They may cost more, but that just becomes another cost you would need to pass on to the clients.
I would explore this option. If you can find the right individual, have them train a couple people. Don’t just have them crushing work.

Pay the extra cost. Well worth it in the long run.

But I do understand. It’s hard to find the right individual for this work.
